How It Works (Super Simple)

  1. Order & Ship – Place your order and securely pack your shears (see “Shipping Instructions” below).
  2. We Service – Full pro service: disassemble, disinfect, replace worn parts, sharpen, set, test.
  3. Quality Check – Wet/dry test cuts, tension verification, final clean & oil.
  4. Return Ship – We ship your shears back in 2–3 days, ready for the chair.

What We Sharpen

  • Convex/hamaguri professional shears (stylist & barber)
  • Thinning/Texturizing shears (14–40 tooth, chunkers, notching)
  • Left-hand and swivel-thumb models
  • Most micro-serrated barber shears (we preserve serration where designed)
  • Curved and specialty profiles (case-by-case)

Our Comprehensive Process

  1. Intake & Inspection – Check edge type, ride line integrity, set, tips, pivot, washers, bumpers, and finger rest.
  2. Disassembly & Disinfection – Hygienic teardown of both blades; sanitize components.
  3. Worn Parts Replacement – Replace washers, bumpers, and other wear items as needed to restore performance.
  4. Edge Restoration (Factory-Matched) – Minimal material removal; restore the original convex profile or micro-serration spec.
  5. Inside Work (“Seal”) – Re-establish a straight, continuous ride line and inside hollow for proper blade “seal.”
  6. Set, Balance & Tension – Correct blade set/radius, align tips, and dial in true working tension.
  7. Reassembly & Lubrication – Proper torque on the pivot; professional scissor oil at the joint.
  8. Performance Testing – Wet and dry test media to confirm silent glide, no push/fold, and clean snip to the tips.

Turnaround & Guarantee

2–3 day turnaround from the day your shears arrive. Every service is backed by our Satisfaction Guarantee—if your shears aren’t cutting perfectly, contact us and we’ll make it right.

    FANTASTIC!

Scott is absolutely fantastic at what he does! I've been through many shear sharpening professionals and let me tell you they don't hold a candle in comparison to Scott! I had him fix and sharpen my shears after an absolute catastrophe from another man who sharpened them and it was absolutely awful and they were new. They were ruined but Scott worked his magic and fixed them! I will NEVER have any one other Scott sharpen/take care of my shears ever again! Thank you Scott!!!!

We have had a few shear sharpening professionals that have done ok jobs. Will only come if a certain amount needs to be done. I found Scotts number and called him. He came by and proved to all of my team there is no one better. We will NEVER use anyone But Scott. Very professional, understanding and treats us incredible. I could talk forever about his work and him. But he is the only one we will use. And I tell all my other stores the same

"I hadn't had my sewing shears sharpened in far too long. I heard about Scott from my hair stylist, who highly recommended him. I sent them off, and about 10 days later I had them back in terrific shape. Very pleased! "

    Skilled professional with a personality

Scott came in to my salon one day- and the first thing that I liked about him was how personable and down to earth he was. Theres nothing worse than a salesperson when you have 3 clients going. He was not pushy - he was confident, and that was enough for me to trust him and have him sharpen my shears. Truth be told, I wasn't overly thrilled with who I had been using , but I didn't let him know that. Shortly into sharpening that pair- he let me know how badly they were ruined because of what the last person had been doing. Fast forward and he let me borrow a pair of shears to use for a week or two to see how I liked them. I ended up buying that pair and he has been maintaining them ever since. I recently moved to a new location and he was one of the first people I contacted. When your tools are this important- You need someone you can trust to maintain them. And Scott is that person!
