How It Works (Super Simple)

Our Comprehensive Process

- Disassembly & Disinfection – Hygienic teardown of both blades; sanitize components.
- Worn Parts Replacement – Replace washers, bumpers, and other wear items as needed to restore performance.
- Edge Restoration (Factory-Matched) – Minimal material removal; restore the original convex profile or micro-serration spec.
- Inside Work (“Seal”) – Re-establish a straight, continuous ride line and inside hollow for proper blade “seal.”
- Set, Balance & Tension – Correct blade set/radius, align tips, and dial in true working tension.
- Reassembly & Lubrication – Proper torque on the pivot; professional scissor oil at the joint.
- Performance Testing – Wet and dry test media to confirm silent glide, no push/fold, and clean snip to the tips.

Shipping Instructions (Mail-In)
- Prep Your Shears – Engage the blade guard if you have one. If not, wrap tips with cardboard and tape; then wrap the entire shear in bubble wrap.
- Include Your Details – Name, order number, return address, email/phone, brand/model, and any issues (nicks, pull, push, tension concerns).
- Use a Sturdy Box – Pad well to prevent movement. We recommend insured shipping with tracking.

Scott came to my Salon and gave us a lesson on shear maintenance and care. He is very knowledgeable about his work and answered any questions I had. He also did a great job sharpening my 8 year old shears which now work like new. Also he has an enormous collection of shear types to choose from and is extremely helpful in finding a paid that fits you best. If you have a salon I would ask him to come in and educate your stylists and/or take a look at his shear collection if you are in need of new ones.

I started having Scott sharpen my shears last year and I couldn't be happier. Not only are my shears sharp and back to brand new condition, but Scott goes out of his way to make sure that I am happy with the results! He will actually come back to the shop and drop in to make sure everyone's still satisfied. One time I actually dropped my shears a couple days after being sharpened, leaving a small nick on the shear. Scott set up his station and repaired them free of charge, even though I was willing to pay again since it was totally my fault that I dropped them. He is very knowledgeable about what he does and always offers different options for repairs and sales, but is not pushy about it! Will be using Shear Fanatic for all my sharpening needs as long as I am in the area. Highly recommend! 9/30/2019

He is our new man

I was looking around for someone to sharpen my shears and ideally come to my shop as I don't like sending them out for service. I went on a Facebook stylist site and noticed several rave reviews about Scott the fact that he came to the shop was a bonus. I called him up and I was lucky enough to get him to come the same day I called. He kept me informed on when he would be there, he arrived on time, was very pleasant even greeted my customers. He did a fantastic job on my shears. I am very satisfied with him and his work, will be calling him again when I need his services.
